The challenge:  Allow consumers to virtually test color contact lenses.

Our challenge was to create an augmented reality (AR) experience that would allow consumers to test and find the best color and shade of contact lenses for them. The brand has a presence on both Instagram and Snapchat, and we wanted to add AR try-on capability on both platforms to reach a wide audience of people who use these social media platforms for various mobile-based services.

Our goal was to create an immersive AR experience where users could try on the color contact lenses and also use it as a face filter, leveraging the power of social AR platforms like Instagram Filters or Snapchat Filters.

Creating this AR experience was not simple, as it required multiple tests to ensure the color of the contact lenses looked original. We were able to create an AR experience that not only stays true to the lenses' colors but also brings forth the elegance of the product in an engaging and innovative way. This experience enables consumers to envision how the contact lenses would appear on them prior to making a purchase and also infuses the try-on process with a sense of excitement and surprise.

Our approach: AR try-on for colored contact lenses on Instagram and Snapchat.

We first gather all the necessary product information from the brand. This included information on the various colors and shades of the contact lenses, as well as any other relevant product details.

Once we had all the information we needed, we began the process of creating a face filter for both Instagram and Snapchat. This involved designing the filter to accurately display the different color and shade options for the contact lenses, and ensuring that it was easy for users to navigate and try on different options.

To ensure that the colors of the contact lenses looked as true to life as possible, we conducted multiple tests and made adjustments as needed. We also paid close attention to the overall user experience, making sure that the filter was engaging and easy to use.

Also Instagram have inbuilt native UI feature which helped in adding multiple color lenses options however for Snapchat we build a custom UI on left side to display all the color options available.

The Result:

With traditional online shopping, consumers are limited to only viewing pictures or reading customer reviews, but these methods can lead to a high rate of returns and ultimately increase costs for the brand and damage its reputation. Leila&Leila has a presence on both Instagram and Snapchat and has utilized AR technology (Instagram filter and Snapchat filter) to revolutionize online shopping by allowing users to virtually try on various styles on these platforms. This approach allows the brand to reach a wide audience of people who use these social media platforms and make purchases from the comfort of their own homes.
